The sister-in-law of NFL star Christian McCaffrey has revealed she was nearly robbed during a terrifying incident on a train in the south of France.
Sophia Culpo, the younger sister of McCaffrey’s model and influencer wife Olivia, is currently traveling around Europe with her boyfriend.
During a TikTok post on Friday, she was left close to tears as she detailed a scary episode on a packed train from Nice to Portofino.
‘We had our luggage in the seat in front of us,’ she said. ‘That was the only option. And we had our bags on top.
‘Then the train comes to a stop and these two guys who had been sitting on the train get up to start walking off the train.’
One of the men then dropped their phone at her boyfriend’s feet, which Culpo believes was an effort to disguise the couple.

‘As that guy does that,’ Culpo continues, ‘there’s a guy behind him who reaches over to our luggage to get my bag.
‘I see the guy go for it and jump up and grab my bag. As I’m jumping up I realize my boyfriend is shoving this guy across the train and then this woman, bless her heart, stands up and starts yelling at her husband, who’s all the way at the end of the train.
‘He gets up and tries to go after this guy because she thinks he grabbed my passport out of my bag but I don’t keep my passport in a bag that can be stolen.
‘So my boyfriend and this guy are trying to see where those two guys are going. I’m still at the seat and the guy comes up to the window and starts doing some, like, disgusting things and it was scary, obviously. I was shaking.
‘But we made it and we’re safe and our things are accounted for… but be careful traveling in Europe because the guy that my boyfriend shoved had a massive scar across his… (neck). It literally looked like a knife wound. If they had a knife… it was just so scary.
‘Probably not going to travel that way again. Probably going to think these things through and not travel with a bunch of stuff or designer bags. That could have been a lot worse than it was.’
The couple had stopped in Paris and Provence before making their way south to Nice before hopping on the fateful train to Portofino in Italy.
Sophia’s new romance comes after she split up with her last boyfriend Michael Stevens back in October after two years.

She moved to silence rumors that she reunited with her ex-boyfriend, the NFL player Braxton Berrios, earlier this year after his split from Alix Earle.
The internet went into meltdown in March when Berrios was spotted in New York with a female companion that many thought was Culpo.
But she quickly silenced those rumors with a pointed TikTok post. The 28-year-old shared a video by her laptop captioned: ‘Me logging on to the internet to figure out what city I am in today.’
She added: ‘If anyone sees me in another city, please let me know so I can pack.’
And if there was still any doubt as to whether Culpo was with Berrios in Manhattan, she filmed the palm trees outside of her window – a far cry from the concrete jungle.
