Nigeria international Raphael Onyedika made his first appearance for new club Eintracht Frankfurt as the Bundesliga side defeated Hull City 2-0 in a pre-season friendly in Dreieich.
The midfielder, who recently completed his move from Club Brugge to Frankfurt, was handed a starting role by head coach Adi Hütter, partnering Hugo Larsson in central midfield.

The match was played over two 60-minute halves, giving Onyedika valuable minutes as he begins to settle into his new surroundings and adapt to Frankfurt’s tactical demands.
Jonathan Burkardt opened the scoring in the 56th minute, before Swedish youngster Love Arrhov doubled Frankfurt’s advantage in the 71st minute to seal a fourth consecutive pre-season victory for the German side.
Onyedika featured during the opening 60-minute period before Frankfurt made wholesale changes for the second half. The Nigerian midfielder was therefore able to get his first taste of competitive action in the colours of his new club.
The move to Frankfurt represents a major step in Onyedika’s career after three seasons at Club Brugge, where he established himself as an important midfielder and gained valuable Champions League experience.
The 24-year-old will now continue preparations with Frankfurt ahead of the new Bundesliga campaign, with his first appearance providing an early opportunity to build chemistry with his new teammates.
For the Super Eagles star, the Hull City friendly marks the beginning of a new chapter in Germany as he looks to make his mark in the Bundesliga.
