LOI: St Patrick's Athletic reduce gap to seven with win over Shelbourne

St Patrick’s Athletic have reduced the gap to Shamrock Rovers at the top of the table to seven points after a 2-1 win over Shelbourne.

Anthony Olusanya put Stephen Kenny’s side ahead after seven minutes, with James Brown doubling the lead in the 34th minute.

James Norries gave Shelbourne hope in the 70th minute, but that was dashed when Rodrigo Fretias was sent off for a second yellow.

In Sunday’s other game, Waterford’s good form continued after a 3-1 win over Bohemians.

Tom Lonergan gave Waterford the lead in the 21st minute, and two goals in six minutes late in the first half from PΓ‘draig Amond gave Waterford a three-goal lead at half-time.

Dayle Rooney gave Bohemians some hope, but Waterford secured another important win that puts them six points ahead of Sligo Rovers at the bottom of the table.
