Former Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is on the verge of a surprise free-agent move to Turkish Süper Lig club Trabzonspor, after negotiations and an impending arrival in Turkey were officially confirmed by the club.
Initial rumours heavily linked him to fellow Turkish side Beşiktaş, but those talks broke down over financial and structural disagreements.

However, Trabzonspor moved swiftly to hijack the process, culminating in public club announcements confirming that formal transfer negotiations are underway.
In a statement issued by the club via X handle, it is expected that the Egyptian international will arrive in Turkey today.
“Professional footballer Mohamed Salah, with whom we have begun transfer negotiations, will be at Istanbul Atatürk Airport General Aviation Terminal at 12:00 on Wednesday, August 5 (tomorrow),” they wrote.
“The player is scheduled to arrive in Trabzon on the same day in the evening hours.
“The time and other details regarding the welcome program in Trabzon will be shared with the public through our club’s official communication channels during the day.”

During his time at Liverpool, Salah established himself as one of the greatest players to ever play for the club, winning multiple trophies and breaking countless records.
He left Anfield with two Premier League trophies and a UEFA Champions League winners’ medal.
He finished with 257 goals in 442 appearances in all competitions, sitting third in Liverpool’s all-time goalscorers charts and fourth in the Premier League all-time scoring list with 191 goals.
