Everton Agree Deal With Arsenal To Sign Midfielder

Everton have reportedly agreed to sign Christian Norgaard in a £7million transfer from Arsenal.

Norgaard joined the Gunners in a £15m move from Brentford just last summer but was limited to just 20 appearances across all competitions.

He was named in a Premier League starting line-up just once – in the final match of the season against Crystal Palace.

But now the 32-year-old is poised for an exit in a bid to earn more game time.

The Athletic (via The Sun) reports that Everton have reached an agreement in principle to sign Norgaard from Arsenal.

The fee is reported to be in the region of £7m.

Should the deal be formalised, the midfielder will undergo a medical next week.

Norgaard is expected to become Everton’s fourth signing of the summer.

He would follow the arrival of Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough along with Tyrique George and Merlin Rohl, who both spent last season on loan in Merseyside.

The former Denmark international is expected to replace Idrissa Gueye, who left Everton last month.

Norgaard did not score in his only season for Arsenal but managed three FA Cup assists.

He was also crowned a Premier League champion when the Gunners wrapped up the title in May.
