Israeli newspaper Israel Hayom has published an interview with Egyptian activist Dalia Ziada, who left Egypt after facing criticism over her public positions on Israel and the conflict in Gaza.
According to the newspaper, Ziada departed Egypt shortly after publicly expressing views supportive of Israel and describing Palestinian armed groups as terrorist organizations. The report said she later relocated to the United States.
The article states that Ziada faced widespread criticism in Egypt following her statements. According to Israel Hayom, she was accused by critics of harming Egyptโs national interests and was the subject of allegations related to contacts with Israel. The Israel Hayom article portrays Ziada as a supporter of closer relations between Israel and Arab states. Critics, however, have accused her of promoting positions aligned with the Israeli government, an allegation she has rejected in previous public statements.
