Nigerian-born Italy international, Luca Warrick Daeovie Koleosho has been described as a young player with great qualities, who ‘can contribute to future successes’ at his new club, Paris FC, which he officially joined in a full contract at the start of this week, Sports247 reports.
The shower of accolades on the 21-year-old winger, who was born and raised in the United States to a Nigerian father and an Italian-Canadian mother, comes from the sporting director of Paris FC, Marco Neppe, following the player’s switch from Burnley of England.
Koleosho joins another Nigerian-born star, Lesley Ugochukwu as the latest player to leave relegated Burnley, which he initially joined from Espanyol of Spain for £2.6m in 2023 and went on to score three goals in 45 appearances, but spent the second half of last season on loan with Paris FC.
After scoring three goals and getting one assist in 18 games for the club that also has Super Eagles’ winger, Moses Simon, the Paris-based side quickly sought him on a full basis, which they have now achieved by signing him to a deal that will run until 2031.
Neppe said: “Luca is a player we now know very well. We absolutely wanted to bring him back. Luca is young and possesses great qualities; his profile perfectly matches the team’s needs. We are certain that he will be able to realise his full potential here and contribute to the future successes of Paris FC.”
Sports247 gathered further that Koleosho began playing with a community-based side, Trumbull United at the age of seven, then joined Manhattan Kickers, with which he made two trips to Spain and his parents decided he should join the youth academy of Reus in 2016.
He then moved to Espanyol’s youth system in 2020 and signed his first professional contract on June 2nd, 2021, after which he featured for three additional seasons then switched to Burnley in 2023 on a transfer fee of £2.6m, plus £860,000 add-ons in a four-year deal.
Koleosho made his debut for Burnley in a 3-0 loss to Manchester City, then scored his first English Premier League goal in a 5-0 victory over Sheffield United but, on August 21st, 2025, it was announced that he would return to Espanyol on a season long loan.
