Shamrock Rovers hopes of qualifying for the Champions League ended after they were defeated 3-2 on aggregate against Ararat Armenia, despite a 2-1 in Tallaght Stadium.
Stephen Bradley’s side needed a fast start after their 2-0 defeat last week, and had their first in the 13th minute through Matthew Healy.
Aaron Greene levelled the tie in the 38th minute, as the League of Ireland champions were 2-0 up on the night.
However, Ararat Armenia scored the goal they needed to put them ahead through Sandro Lima in the 75th minute.
Stephen Bradley’s men now drop down to the Europa League qualifiers
