Cleveland Browns star wide receiver Jerry Jeudy is slamming a recent video that appears to show him taking a side in his team’s battle for the QB1 position in the depth chart.
The Browns are expected to choose between one of Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders to be their starting quarterback for the upcoming season.
While the battle for the spot is expected to be intensive, a video making the rounds on social media appeared to show Jeudy taking a side.
The clip shows Jeudy flashing four fingers on a livestream, which has been interpreted as a reference to Watson – who wears the No. 4 on the field.
But there are clear skips and cuts in the video which try to paint Jeudy as picking Watson over Sanders in the quarterback battle.
On Sunday, Jeudy posted a denial of this interpretation, saying, ‘Yall cut the clip perfectly for that narrative.’ย

But Jeudy is denying that he’s taking any sides and says the clip was edited to fit a narrative
In further posts to his X account, Jeudy said he will not be taking a side on the choice head coach Todd Monken needs to make.
‘Lmao yall just be lying so much for what??’ he posted.
Jeudy followed that up, saying, ‘I don’t speak on decisions that aren’t mine to make. I support my teammates/Brothers, I do my job, and control what I can control.’ย
‘Let’s stop creating narrative that aren’t there for likes and clicks. I bet this won’t go viral because it’s too positive/real for y’all.’
Watson missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing a second procedure on his right Achilles tendon, which he ruptured in the 2024 campaign.
He is in the final season of his five-year $230million contract that is fully guaranteed.
Sanders, the second-year quarterback out of Colorado, won the top job midway through the season and started seven games.
Monken has previously complimented the two gunslingers – saying Sanders has ‘really come a long way’ while noting that Watson’s ‘athleticism shows up.’
