Wrexham have reportedly agreed a £7.2m deal to make Fiorentina defender Matias Moreno their first signing of the summer.
The 22-year-old Argentine is poised to complete his move to Welsh club as they build towards another Championship promotion push.

However, the transfer will include a hefty 50 per cent sell-on clause, Sky Sports journalist Anthony Joseph reports.
Moreno spent last season on loan with Levante in LaLiga, making 28 appearances.
He joined Fiorentina in 2024 after the Serie A side sold fellow centre-back Nikola Milenkovic to Nottingham Forest.
Premier League still the aim
Wrexham will be targeting a play-off finish in the second tier after agonisingly missing out on the final day of last season.
The Red Dragons have enjoyed a meteoric rise up the English football pyramid since being bought by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob Mac in 2020.
Under Phil Parkinson, they became the first team in England’s top five tiers to achieve three successive promotions.
National League champions in 2023, Wrexham subsequently won automatic promotion from League Two then League One.
Their seventh-placed finish in the Championship last term was the best in their 161-year history.
Reynolds and Mac remain determined to take Wrexham to the top flight for the very first time, CEO Michael Williamson confirmed last month.
Williamson emphasised that ‘they are absolutely focused on what their ambitions are of arriving to the Premier League, to improve the stadium, to invest in the long-term success of the club while also trying to make a positive difference in the wider Wrexham community’ – the latter being something the pair have won plenty of plaudits for since taking over at the Racecourse Ground.

Red Dragons on tour
Wrexham began their preparations for the new campaign with a 0-0 friendly draw against Poland’s Wisla Krakow last Saturday.
They’ll also take on three Premier League clubs between now and the start of the season, first taking on Manchester United in Helsinki this Saturday coming.
The Red Dragons then head to their owners’ homeland, the USA, for games against Leeds in Tampa and Liverpool in New York.
Wrexham’s first competitive clash of 2026/27 sees them travel to Middlesbrough in the first round of the EFL Cup on August 7, before beginning the new Championship campaign with an all-Welsh encounter away to newly promoted Cardiff City on August 17.
While Moreno is set to be Wrexham’s first arrival of the window after they missed out on goalkeeper Pierce Charles, the club have already bid farewell to a number of stars who played key roles in their rise through the leagues.
Midfielder Andy Cannon and striker Paul Mullin are among those to leave the Racecourse Ground as free agents at the end of their contracts.
Wrexham also recently announced a major shirt sponsorship deal with Firefox and unveiled their new away kit featuring the web browser’s logo.
