49ers coach Kyle Shanahan involved in horrific offseason car crash that left him with a broken nose, ribs and hand

San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan was involved in a terrifying offseason car crash that left him with multiple injuries.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Shanahan collided with an SUV near his home in northern California on July 14.

As a result, the 46-year-old broke his nose, three ribs, his hand, required more than 40 stitches in his face and suffered a severe concussion.

He is reportedly ‘healing well’ but still suffering from symptoms related to the concussion, according to ESPN.

As a result, Shanahan will be limited in what he can do when the 49ers open their training camp this weekend.

Therefore his longtime assistant Chris Foerster, who serves as assistant head coach, will take on a bigger role in training camp.
