Athletics star Joshua Kuroda-Grauer has successfully undergone surgery after rupturing a testicle when he hit a foul ball off into his nether regions.
During the fifth inning of a game against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Monday, Kuroda-Grauer hit a foul ball off into his groin.
The rookie, who is the A’s best hitter, crumpled into a heap at home plate while trainers rushed out to help him.
Kuroda-Grauer shockingly got to his feet, managed a swing, and even scored a single.
Moreover, he continued playing in the field before he was eventually replaced at third base in the bottom of the sixth inning.
He finished the night with his first major league homer on a 2-for-3 hitting line, but eventually headed to the hospital.

The loss of Kuroda-Grauer to the injury comes at an inopportune time for the Athletics
‘I think he might be the only player in history to (rupture) a testicle, stay in the game, get a hit and play another half inning of defense,’ manager Mark Kotsay told reporters.
A press release from the club says the 2024 third-round pick is ‘resting comfortably’ after undergoing his procedure.
The A’s placed him on the IL and recalled Max Muncy to fill the rookie’s spot on the roster.
It comes at a time where the Athletics have gone 2-8 in their past ten games, but Kuroda-Grauer was a bright spot in recent times.
In his first 16 games, he has an OPS of 1.019 and a batting average of .417 – constituting 25 hits in 62 plate appearances.
