A member of the Ratel group, known as Romeo, has strongly criticised the family of 20-year-old Favour Agbro, who died by suicide after an alleged rape incident. In a viral video, Romeo said the family is “running mad” and trying to use their daughter’s death to make money from Nigerians.
Favour, from Ughelli North in Delta State, allegedly travelled to Asaba on June 1, 2026, after content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, invited her for content creation training. According to police reports, he took her to a hotel where he allegedly raped and assaulted her. She returned home traumatised, recorded a video about the incident, and later took a toxic substance. She was rushed to the hospital but died despite efforts to save her.ѕєє тнє ν!∂єσ нєяє
The family said they spent over ₦7 million on hospital bills before her death. But Romeo, in his reaction, questioned this. He asked, “Did she have cancer that you claim you spent over ₦7 million on medical bills?” He added that the parents failed their daughter and are now trying to extort money from Nigerians. His comments have caused serious reactions online.
Odogwu Asaba has been arrested by Delta State Police. He reportedly begged the family for an out-of-court settlement. The case is still under investigation at the Area Command in Effurun.
Romeo’s video has divided many people on social media. Some support him, saying families should not use such tragedies to beg for money.
