Danladi Isah, a resident of the Olowa community in Kogi State, has recounted the events surrounding the abduction of four people from a NECO examination centre in Olowa, Dekina Local Government Area.
Speaking during an interview with News Central TV, Isah said that on July 14, 2026, he and other members of the community heard gunfire coming from the direction of the school. They immediately rushed to the scene, while soldiers also arrived shortly afterward. According to him, it was then discovered that the school principal, a NECO supervisor and two students had been taken away by the attackers.ѕєє тнє ν!∂єσ нєяє
Isah explained that community members later managed to establish contact with the kidnappers through a telephone call. He said the abductors confirmed that the four missing individuals were in their custody.
According to him, the contact was made after one of the abducted students’ mobile phones was taken by the kidnappers. When the student failed to return home, another resident used a different phone to call the student’s number, and the kidnappers answered.
In his words, “They took away a student’s handset. When the student got home, he used another person’s phone to call his number. They picked and we spoke with them. They said they are actually kidnappers and four of our people are with them. They said they were seeing us when we invited soldiers to track them and that before you see a monkey, the monkey has already seen you.”
Isah added that the kidnappers claimed they had observed the community’s efforts to involve security personnel in tracking them, suggesting they were aware of the movements of both residents and soldiers throughout the incident.
