Jordan denied reports that it had evacuated Aqaba airport or seaport after the US embassy warned Americans of a “credible threat”.
Jordanian government spokesman Mohammad Al-Momani told the Petra News agency that “relevant authoritiesย have not issued any evacuation orders at the Aqaba Airport or seaport.”
Al-Momani says authorities in the Hashemite kingdom have not recorded any potential threats to Aqaba over the last several hours.
Both the Aqaba airport and seaport are operating normally, he adds, according to Petra.
