So far this summer, several world-renowned stars have already secured big-money transfers, and the window is expected to heat up over the coming weeks amid possible moves for Michael Olise, Julian Alvarez and Yan Diomande.

Tottenham Hotspur have spent the most money of any club in world football so far this summer, with the north London outfit reacting to consecutive 17th-placed finishes with the signings of Sandro Tonali, Mateus Fernandes, Jan Paul van Hecke, Andrew Robertson, Marcos Senesi and Martin Dubravka for a combined €267 million.

Their arch-rivals Arsenal, meanwhile, have signed Piero Hincapie on a permanent deal following his loan spell at the club last season, and they have picked up Illan Meslier on a Bosman deal from Leeds United. The Gunners have also agreed a deal for Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.

Chelsea have also been very active in the market, signing Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner, while selling Marc Cucurella to Real Madrid, Andrey Santos to Manchester United and Tyrique George to Everton. Youngster Jesse Derry has been sent on loan to Sporting CP for the season.

Manchester City have signed Elliot Anderson for a club-record fee, in addition to Mathys Detourbet and Jeremy Monga, while Man Utd have strengthened Michael Carrick’s squad with the additions of Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow and the aforementioned Santos.

Liverpool are set to miss out on top target Yan Diomande, who wants to join Paris Saint-Germain, but they have still bolstered their team with the signings of Osasuna winger Victor Munoz and Stade Rennais defender Jeremy Jacquet.

In Europe, Barcelona have signed Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon for €80m, and their El Clasico rivals Real Madrid have purchased Cucurella, Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.

Bayern Munich have completed a deal for Eintracht Frankfurt full-back Nathaniel Brown and AC Milan have signed PSG striker Goncalo Ramos for €74m.
