The 2026 summer transfer window is in full swing, and every elite club in Europe is expected to spend big yet again this year.
Last summer, the Premier League transfer record was broken on two occasions by Liverpool, firstly on Florian Wirtz and then on Alexander Isak, while a number of other high-profile deals were also completed across Europe’s big five leagues.
Trent Alexander-Arnold left Liverpool to join Real Madrid before the Club World Cup in June, Chelsea spent just shy of €340 million on nine new signings, Bayern Munich picked up Luis Diaz and Arsenal splashed the cash on the likes of Viktor Gyokeres, Eberechi Eze and several others.
This summer, yet more big deals are set to be finalised, with a number of world-renowned superstars expected to be on the move.
Man Utd have signed Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans as they look to revamp their midfield, while Karl Darlow has controversially joined from rivals Leeds to act as backup to Senne Lammens.
Man City have shattered their club record with the €135m signing of Nottingham Forest and England midfielder Elliot Anderson, while Spurs have twice broken their record, first on West Ham wonderkid Mateus Fernandes and then on Newcastle star Sandro Tonali.
Chelsea have added full-back Marco Palestra as Xabi Alonso’s first signing. Marc Cucurella, meanwhile, has left for Real Madrid, who have also signed Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.
El Clasico rivals Barcelona have recruited Anthony Gordon and Karim Adeyemi, and they could yet bring in Atletico Madrid superstar Julian Alvarez.
