Rams offensive lineman Alaric Jackson has avoided any criminal charges after being accused of attacking his pregnant girlfriend last month.
Jackson was arrested on charges of suspected domestic battery on June 8, with police called to his San Fernando Valley home over an alleged dispute with the 38-year-old woman – who claimed she had been left with ‘scratches and bruises’.
However, according to the California Post, prosecutors will not be filing charges against Jackson ‘at this time’ – however the case does still remain open.
A spokesperson for the Los Angeles City Attorney’s Office, Ivor Pine, confirmed the news to the outlet on Tuesday evening.
Pine said: ‘This matter has been assigned for a City Attorney Hearing, a pre-filing diversion available to eligible individuals that is an alternative to misdemeanor criminal prosecution.
‘Charges are not filed against the respondent at this time, however, the case stays open throughout the length of the statute of limitations. It can be re-evaluated if there are further developments.’

A City Attorney hearing, as per their website, is ‘an informal proceeding that is conducted as an alternative to a misdemeanor criminal prosecution’.
In other words, the City Attorney’s Office are set to offer alternative options to Jackson in order for him to avoid being charged with a crime.
Jackson became embroiled in drama in early June, after being arrested on charges of suspected domestic battery following a dispute with his pregnant girlfriend.
While it is unclear what the argument was caused by, the accuser explained her version of events in the TRO request.
At the time, she explained: ‘He took my phone during the attempt I fought to hold on I bit him trying to keep possession of phone,’ she alleged. ‘He took it and my headphones, broke them & threw my phone. At which point I started to record the erratic behavior at which point he flipped my food over.’
‘When he came back in from taking things to the car he became upset I was recording, he struggled w/ me for my phone I told he him to be careful because I’m pregnant, he said “I don’t give a f***.” I got bruises, scratches and cuts in the scuffle. He took my keys & phone and threw them over our city view yard,’ she added.
The woman had previously obtained a temporary restraining order against Jackson, however her attorney recently informed a judge that she wants that dissolved.

The NFL will continue to evaluate the offensive lineman’s situation, in order to determine whether he violated the personal conduct policy, which would result in a suspension.
Jackson has been with the Rams ever since they drafted him in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Iowa.
He then won Super Bowl LVI with the team, but hasn’t earned many other accolades.
Last season, Jackson signed a three-year, $56.3 million contract which will see him earn a base salary of $18.925m this season.
There is a potential out in his contract that kicks in before next season, which would allow him to be a free agent at the age of 30.
