Como are ready to sign Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah and a meeting has been scheduled to finalise the transfer, according to reports in Italy.

The England international has been earmarked as a key summer target by Como boss Cesc Fabregas and after lengthy negotiations, they look set to beat Serie A rivals Inter Milan to his signature ahead of the 2026-27 season.

Chalobah has played a key role for Chelsea since returning from a loan spell at Crystal Palace in January 2025, however he has just two years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge and the Blues are keen to sanction a sale after missing out on European football last campaign.

Inter were previously considered to be the frontrunners to sign Chalobah, but Como have emerged as his most likely destination in recent days and they are now ready to close the deal, as per Italian transfer reporter Gianluca Di Marzio.

It’s reported that Como have reached an agreement with Chelsea on a transfer fee and a meeting has been planned for all parties to finalise the transfer shortly, with Chalobah keen to join Fabregas’ side ahead of their first ever season in the Champions League.

The 27-year-old played 47 times across all competitions for Chelsea last year, scoring three goals, and he was a late call-up to England’s World Cup squad following an injury suffered by Valentino Livramento ahead of the tournament. However, he was one of only two outfield players – alongside Kobbie Mainoo – who failed to make an appearance in North America.

What transfers have Chelsea completed so far this summer?

So far this summer, Chelsea have unsurprisingly continued their trend of transfer business under their BlueCo owners and a total of 12 deals have been finalised across the first-team and U21s.

Marco Palestra, Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev and Denner have all joined the club to bolster Xabi Alonso’s squad, while Marc Cucurella, Andrey Santos, Tyrique George, Jimmy-Jay Morgan and Frankie Runham have been sold.

Academy starlets Jesse Derry and Harrison Murray-Campbell have both been sent out on loan, and a host of other deals are expected to be finalised before the summer transfer window shuts on 1 September.

The likes of Axel Disasi, Benoit Badiashile, Alejandro Garnacho, David Datro Fofana and Filip Jorgensen are all likely to be sold on permanent deals, and Shim Mheuka is among the stars available for loan.

In addition, Chelsea are also expected to sign Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco and Rayo Vallecano defender Pep Chavarria, while they remain in talks over a deal for Crystal Palace’s Maxence Lacroix, who is their top centre-back target.
