Save the Children accuses Starmer of complicity in Israeli atrocities

Save the Children UK directed a post on X at Prime Minister Keir Starmer, denouncing his legacy on Israeli atrocities against Palestinians. “History will remember your complicity,” the NGO wrote.

Keir Starmer’s government “continued to enable Israel’s atrocities against Palestinians, their family, and children,” the post said. The NGO highlighted the UK’s supply of F-35 fighter jet parts to Israel despite a partial arms suspension in 2024.

In addition, a photo attached to the post shows a plaque that reads, “KEIR STARMER witnessed 73,000 Palestinians killed by Israeli forces, including 21,000 children, and kept supplying arms to Israel”.

“Nothing can change the horrors Palestinians have faced. But the next Prime Minister has an opportunity to put an end to the UK Government’s role as an ally to atrocities,” Save the Children said, referring to the incoming leader Andy Burnham.

“What will your plaque say?” they asked.

The UK-based children’s charity called for suspending all arms sales to Israel, suspending the UK-Israel trade and partnership agreement, and banning trade with illegal settlements.
