El-Kanemi Warriors’ successful 2026 President Federation Cup campaign was further celebrated as two of the club’s standout performers, Muktar Ismail and Suleiman Tomitope, received the tournament’s top individual awards following their victory over Ikorodu City FC.
The Maiduguri-based club clinched their fourth President Federation Cup title with a hard-fought 1-0 win in the final at the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba, Delta State, courtesy of Muktar Ismail’s first-half penalty.

Sports247 reports that the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) honoured players who distinguished themselves throughout the competition, with El-Kanemi Warriors dominating the individual accolades.
Midfielder Muktar Ismail was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament after delivering a series of influential performances during the club’s title-winning campaign. The versatile Kano-born midfielder crowned his outstanding tournament by calmly converting the decisive penalty in the final, securing victory for El-Kanemi Warriors.
The triumph also marked Ismail’s second President Federation Cup title with the club, having previously lifted the prestigious trophy in 2024, further cementing his status as one of the team’s key figures.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Suleiman Tomitope was rewarded with the Golden Glove Award after emerging as the tournament’s best goalkeeper. The Zaria-born shot-stopper produced a string of commanding displays between the posts, conceding only one goal throughout El-Kanemi Warriors’ victorious campaign.
His consistency, crucial saves, and leadership at the back proved instrumental in guiding the club to another domestic cup success, while the Golden Glove represents the first major individual honour of his professional career.
The individual awards underline El-Kanemi Warriors’ dominance throughout the competition, with both Ismail and Tomitope playing pivotal roles in the club’s march to glory.
