The UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) advised vessels to transit with caution and report any suspicious activity after an Iranian missile struck a Cyprus-flagged ship in the Strait of Hormuz.
The attack on the vessel was followed by a fresh round of US strikes on several Iranian cities.
The UKMTO said it had received a report of “an incident 9NM east of Oman”.
“Military authorities have reported that a container ship has sustained damage to the rear of the vessel, causing a fire on board,” the UKMTO said in a post on X.
