Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma has completed his move to Kenyan Premier League giants Tusker FC, bringing an end to a memorable spell with Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions Remo Stars.

The 29-year-old forward, who finished as the NPFL’s leading goalscorer and was instrumental in Remo Stars’ campaign, becomes Tusker FC’s first signing ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Confirming the acquisition on its official social media platforms, the Kenyan club welcomed the prolific striker with excitement.
“We are delighted to announce the signing of Nigerian striker Victor Mbaoma, the reigning top scorer of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL). Mbaoma is our first signing ahead of the 2026/27 season. Na dis your house oga. You dey welcome!” the club posted.
Sports247 understands that Mbaoma had attracted interest from several clubs during the transfer window, including NPFL side Plateau United. However, negotiations failed to materialise, paving the way for Tusker FC to secure his signature.
The opportunity to work under French coach Julien Mette is believed to have played a significant role in the striker’s decision to continue his career in Kenya.
Mbaoma leaves Remo Stars after another outstanding campaign, registering 17 goal contributions and cementing his status as one of the league’s most consistent attackers. His performances were recognised by club owner Kunle Soname, who rewarded him with a brand-new car after he emerged as the NPFL’s top scorer.
Paying tribute to their departing captain, Remo Stars described Mbaoma as one of the greatest players in the club’s history.
“We can confirm the transfer of Victor Mbaoma to Tusker FC of Kenya. Thank you for the memories, our club GOAT!” the club wrote.
The experienced forward also took to social media to express gratitude to everyone who supported him during his time with the Ikenne-based club.
“Lord, the more I look into details, the more of your mercies I find. God please,” Mbaoma wrote.
He added: “Thank you Kunle Soname. Thank you Remo Stars Sports Club. Thank you friends and family. I am grateful.”
Having conquered Nigerian football, Mbaoma now embarks on a fresh challenge in East Africa, where Tusker FC will be hoping his goalscoring prowess can power the club’s quest for domestic honours and continental success in the 2026/27 season.
