Eurostar disruption LIVE: London route faces 'severe delays' after 'incident'

Eurostar has warned its customers that trains between London and Lille/Brussels/Rotterdam/Amsterdam are expected to be subject to severe delays today. The disruption, the train operator said, is due to “emergency services attending an incident near the tracks in Lille Europe”.

Travellers impacted by delays have been given the choice to exchange their tickets for free to travel at a different time or date. Several people have already taken to social media to report travel disruption, with some users claiming their train from London St Pancras to Paris Gare du Nord had also been impacted. One X user wrote at approximately 12.40pm: Eurostar on the ES 9014 9:31am from London to Paris and been stationary on the train at Lille for over 1hr 30 mins and getting v little info about when our journey will continue.” The operator replied: “Hello Haf, we’re very sorry for the delay to your journey today – this is due to an incident at Lille-Europe which the emergency services are attending. We’re awaiting an update from the railway network manager to work out how your journey may be affected.”
