Sky Bet pays out £11.6m on England victory, with one punter turning £20 into £19,000 with incredible nine-leg Build-A-Bet

Sky Bet paid out almost £12million to winning customers after England’s dramatic victory over Mexico at the World Cup.

One customer walked away with an incredible £19,057.90 after betting £20 on a sensational nine-leg Build-A-Bet ahead of England’s triumph at the Azteca.

The ambitious wager combined goalscorers, player performance markets, bookings, corners and the match result, with every selection needing to land to secure the huge payout.

Jude Bellingham was the punters’ favourite after Sky Bet boosted the odds on the England star to have a shot on target from 1/2 to evens.

The £19k bet began to take shape when Bukayo Saka set up Bellingham to tick off two selections in one moment – which were Saka to register an assist and Bellingham to score or assist.

Kane then found the net to land his Anytime Goalscorer selection, before Raul Jimenez’s strike for Mexico kept the ambitious nine-leg Build-A-Bet on course.

A feisty second half delivered the bookings and corners required, and when Jorge Sanchez entered the referee’s notebook in the 71st minute, the customer was left needing just one final leg – for England to see out the remaining 20 minutes, plus stoppage time, and book their place in the quarter-finals.

The Three Lions did exactly that, completing a remarkable Build-A-Bet and securing a return of £19,057.90 from just a £20 stake.

The nine legs of the winning selection were:

• Bukayo Saka to register an assist

• Harry Kane anytime goalscorer

• Raul Jimenez anytime goalscorer

• Over 3.5 cards

• Over 8.5 corners

• Jorge Sanchez to be shown a card

• Marc Guehi to be shown a card

• Jude Bellingham to score or assist

• England to win

England’s World Cup campaign continues in the quarter-finals on Saturday, when Thomas Tuchel’s side face Norway in Miami.
