A highly impactful youth football coach in Ikotun area of Lagos, Victor Ugochukwu Okoro has gleefully disclosed that his admiration for American singer and actor, Justin Timberlake brought about a catchy name for his academy.
Sports247 gathered that the youth development project at Community Primary School, Ikotun is known as Lake Football Academy, while the founder is fondly called ‘Coach Timber.’

The fair-skinned youth motivator, who hails from Mbaise in Imo State, said he is working hard to instil some skills he learnt while playing football as ‘a village boy’ and hopes his wards will go farther than he did.
Okoro disclosed, “I played football to an extent in the village and for Hope High School in Ebonyi State. I was a midfielder, but I did not go far as a player.
“That’s why I decided to start coaching young talents. I started as an assistant coach with Henry FC, where I was four four years until I started Lake Football Academy in 2023.”
While working together with huge technical assistance from Abbey Oseni, ‘Coach Timber’ has already discovered a lot of young talents who are being nurtured at the academy.
Among them are the senior team’s captain and reliable left-back, Samuel Jayeola, as well as junior skipper, Success Tochukwu, a striker who is in class one of senior secondary school (SS1).
