England fans are making a lot of noise in Atlanta as the excitement builds ahead of Wednesday’s World Cup last-32 clash with DR Congo.
The Three Lions face their African opponents at Atlanta Stadium (5pm kick-off, BST) with a place against co-hosts Mexico in the last 16 awaiting the winner.
Ahead of kick-off, England supporters have had a lot to celebrate in recent days with rivals Germany and Scotland both being dumped out of the tournament.
Germany’s exit was the bigger surprise as they were beaten on penalties by Paraguay in their last-32 tie on Monday.
Despite winning the 1966 World Cup final, England have suffered a lot of heartache at the hands of Germany before – most notably the 1990 World Cup semi-final – and their exit was gleefully mocked by many supporters.
In one video, several fans could be seen singing ‘Auf Wiedersehen!’ and waving goodbye after the four-time winners were dumped out.

In less tasteful scenes, England fans taunted Germany’s World Cup exit by holding up an inflatable Spitfire and singing ’10 German Bombers’ in reference to the two World Wars
In another video at a different bar, England fans mocked Scotland’s World Cup group stage exit
However, in less tasteful scenes in another video at a different bar, some fans can be seen making references to World War I and II as they sing ’10 German Bombers’ while also holding an inflatable Spitfire.
While Germany’s early exit is surprising, Scotland’s demise is not after their group-stage performances.
Steve Clarke’s side failed to finish as one of the eight-best third-placed sides to reach the last 32.
Their fate was confirmed on Saturday, but several days later England fans are still rejoicing in their Auld Enemy’s elimination.

It’s not all been about mocking rivals though in Atlanta. One video on social media shows England and DR Congo fans in a brilliant video.

England fans will be hoping they can sing loud and proud come full-time with a victory over DR Congo.
However, if they do advance then they will be drowned out by the fanatical Mexican support ahead of that potential Mexico City clash at the iconic Azteca Stadium.
