Roberto De Zerbi was always going to make changes to the Tottenham squad this summer, with the goalkeeping department included.
Guglielmo Vicario has been the club’s number one since joining from Empoli in June 2023 for a reported €19million (£16.3million). The Italy international has been tipped to leave the club this summer, however, with various interested clubs in Serie A.
Antonin Kinsky is expected to become the club’s new number one under De Zerbi thanks to his ability on the ball with his feet and his remarkable shot stopping. The 23-year-old impressed at the back end of last season as he came in for Vicario, who was recovering from hernia surgery, and his performances ultimately helped keep Spurs in the Premier League.

Plans for the 2026/27 season were accelerated this week as Spurs announced the signing of Martin Dubravka on a free transfer from Burnley. The 37-year-old goalkeeper will join the Lilywhites following the expiration of his contract at Turf Moor on July 1, becoming the fourth signing of the summer.
The former Newcastle man played 35 matches for the relegated Clarets during the 2025/26 campaign and is expected to be back-up to Kinsky, with homegrown goalkeeper Brandon Austin most probably playing the role as third-choice goalkeeper. The Lilywhites also have youth products such as Luca Gunter, Sam Archer and Aaron Maguire on the books.
Dubravka, who has been capped 60 times by Slovakia, will add some much-needed experience into the Tottenham squad and specifically the goalkeeping department. On the face of it the deal makes complete sense, with sporting director Johan Lange now able to potentially use any money generated from Vicario’s exit on other areas of the squad. According to transfermarkt, the Italian is worth €18million (£15.5m).
Tottenham have already signed Andy Robertson and Marco Senesi on free transfers from Liverpool and Bournemouth, respectively, as well as Jan Paul van Hecke for £52million from Brighton. Business is not expected to stop there, though, and that is why the free signing of Dubravka and sale of Vicario could prove to be such shrewd business.
Spurs, who have finished 17th in the past two seasons, want to improve the starting XI drastically this summer and it’s understood the club have held talks with Newcastle United over a deal for Sandro Tonali, which could cost around £100million. West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes is also being tracked, while Savinho at Manchester City is a target to improve the frontline.
