The United States has presented Israel with a proposal that would allow Gaza’s reconstruction to move forward even if Hamas does not disarm, Al Jazeera reported.
Citing the Israeli Broadcasting Authority, the report said the proposal pointed to growing US pressure to implement President Donald Trump’s post-war plan and hinted that resuming the war is not an option.
According to the report, Washington is seeking Israel’s written approval for the document. Neither the US nor the Israeli governments have publicly commented on the report.
The proposal, the report said, calls for Israel to permit major infrastructure projects, including water and electricity networks.
