Twin baby sisters, aged 15 months, have been found dead from “dehydration” in their beds with French police investigating.
Emergency services were called when the parents reportedly discovered them dead. Four other children aged three, four, five and six were also found to be ill from dehydration – with one airlifted to hospital, local media reports.
The incident happened in the town of Beuvrages, near Valenciennes, with the parents held in custody at the local police station.
A cordon is in place outside the property.
