Granit Xhaka has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Chelsea – with the former Arsenal man open to a reunion with former boss Xabi Alonso
Chelsea have had a £8m bid for Granit Xhaka rejected by a furious Sunderland.
Xhaka was a key player for Xabi Alonso at Bayer Leverkusen and is open to a reunion with his former boss at Stamford Bridge.
But not only have Sunderland rejected the bid from Chelsea, but they also believe the offer is insulting and maintain that the Swiss international is not for sale at any price this summer.
Xhaka, who has two years on his deal, joined Sunderland last summer and played a major role in them qualifying for the Europa League after their promotion to the Premier League.
