All expectations ahead of a much-talked about epic fight between Nigerian-born former world heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Olaseni Oluwafemi Joshua and fellow-Briton, Tyson Fury have been doused with suspense over the date.

Sports247 gathered that, apart from the fight yet to get an exact date, there is also lingering doubt over the venue, as promoters and partners for the fight are locked in contrasting choices between England and United States of America.
In spite of a formal confirmation that the ‘Battle of Britain’ will eventually take place this year, with a day in November likely to take the fight into the history books and boxing annals, an exact date and location are yet to be announced.
This is also despite the fact that both boxers and their camps have already signed contracts and penned a deal to finally face off this year, while the long-awaited epic fight is also expected to be streamed live worldwide by Netflix.
Amazingly, one of the fight’s promoters from Saudi Arabia insists it should be staged in Las Vegas, USA, but Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn has repeatedly pointed out that the contract states that the bout MUST take place in the UK.
On the other hand, Fury’s long-time promoter, Frank Warren, who has a business agreement with ‘The Gypsy King’ has refused to commit himself on the matter, but admitted that key details still need to be agreed.
The astute promoter, though, concluded by emphasizing that there is not thought of a withdrawal by 37-yrear-old Fury, who ended 16 months of retirement in April by beating Arslanbek Makhmudov, also 37, over 12 rounds at Tottenham.
Warren told Sky Sports: “Nothing’s been decided yet. Sela, who the contracts with Tyson, and I assume the same with AJ, they obviously have their preference where it will go. Netflix, who will broadcast it, are going to have their preference.
“The one thing is they’ve both signed up for a fight. AJ’s got his fight in July, and Tyson I believe will have a fight, I don’t know where it will be yet or the date for it and once they’re out the way their fight will go late autumn.
“At the end of the day everybody has got to agree and be satisfied. It’s on, the fight is on – unless either of them gets beaten in these two fights they’re going to have, the fight is on, no problems. I don’t see any problems in getting this fight on.”
Sports247 reports further that 36-year-old Joshua will warm-up for the highly-anticipated fight with Fury by staging a return to the ring on July 25th in Saudi Arabia against little-known Kristian Prenga from Albania, who has won 20 fights.
