World Cup 2026: Norway Is Ready For Ivory Coast Physical Approach –Solbakken

Norway head coach Ståle Solbakken has disclosed that his team is ready to face the physical challenge of the Ivory Coast in the Round of 32 at the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Recall that Solbakken benched 10 starters, including star striker Erling Haaland and Martin Ødegaard, in their final group stage match against France to protect their fitness.

Speaking ahead of the knockout clash, Solbakken praised the Ivory Coast’s tactical and physical approach.

“I think they have a good mix in their midfield three, with a playmaker, a runner and a stabiliser,” Solbakken said as quoted by FIFA.com.

“They also have two good wingers, a striker that can both keep the ball up and go behind and they have two powerhouses at centre-back.

“Their team is very good, but we are a good team when we play to our best. So, let’s see in four days.
