Nigerian sprint star Udodi Onwuzurike continued his encouraging return to form by clocking a season’s best of 20.18 seconds to finish third in the men’s 200 metres at the prestigious Boris Hanžeković Memorial, a World Athletics Continental Tour Gold meeting held in Zagreb, Croatia.
Sports247 reports that competing against a quality field, Onwuzurike produced one of his best performances of the season, crossing the line in 20.18s despite a slight headwind of -0.3m/s.

Canadian Olympic champion Andre De Grasse claimed victory in the event with an impressive 19.95s, while Morocco’s Yassine Hssine finished second in 20.00s, setting a new national record and personal best in the process.
Onwuzurike’s third-place finish represents another positive step in what has been a promising season for the Nigerian sprinter. The 22-year-old has steadily improved his performances in recent weeks, showing signs of rediscovering the form that made him one of Nigeria’s most exciting sprint prospects.
