Tottenham Hotspur are among the clubs who are interested in Sandro Tonali this summer, and have approached Newcastle United with a second offer after their opener was knocked back
Tottenham Hotspur’s second offer for Sandro Tonali has been swiftly rebuffed by Newcastle United, with claims that the Lilywhites made no improvements the second time round.
The Italian midfielder is a hot prospect this summer, with Spurs, Arsenal, Manchester United and Real Madrid all linked with him as of recent. However, Tottenham seem to be the only club actively making offers for Tonali at the moment.
Last week, Roberto De Zerbi’s outfit are understood to have had an offer of around £80million knocked back.
Not offput by the response, it is now reported that the club have once more knocked on the doors of St. James’ Park with the exact same offer. only to be once again told no.
The Mail claim that Spurs simply asked Newcastle to reconsider their initial decision, only for the Magpies to stay firm.
It is understood that Newcastle hold an asking price closer to the £100m mark for the 26-year-old this summer, and an acceptable package has not yet been presented.
United are in no great deal to rush their midfield maestro just yet, considering he has two years left on his current deal, meaning Spurs may have to meet their demands to land Tonali ahead of the new season.

It comes as the Lodi-born star could be looking for a change of scenery ahead of 2026/27, following a lacklustre season on Tyneside.
While Spurs finished 17th in the Premier League standings to Newcastle’s 12th, the club are actively looking to improve their first-team ahead of the new season.
Having already welcomed Marcos Senesi, Andy Robertson and Jan Paul van Hecke, it appears as though the Lilywhites are now trying to bolster their midfield presence – especially considering Lucas Bergvall looks to be headed for the door.
However, Tonali is not the only central midfielder that has been linked with a move to North London as of late. Alex Scott and Mateus Fernandes have also been touted with moves to play under De Zerbi next term, although both look unlikely ventures.
Bournemouth have informed clubs that Scott is not on the market this summer, as they look to retain their key player for at least another year.
Manchester United, meanwhile, are thought to have agreed personal terms with West Ham for Fernandes, and simply need to meet the Hammers’ £85m asking price to complete a move.
