Tottenham Hotspur have had two offers for Sandro Tonali knocked back, but the Newcastle United star has given them a major boost as they look to secure his services
Sandro Tonali has told Tottenham Hotspur that he’s keen to play for them if they can meet Newcastle United’s demands, according to reports.
The Italian is a wanted man by a number of clubs this summer, as his future on Tyneside is cast into doubt following a dismal Premier League season for his club and no European football to look forward to next term.
And while Spurs ultimately finished five places worse off domestically than the Magpies in 2025/26 in 17th, narrowly avoiding relegation, Tonali is seemingly keen on the idea of being a part of Roberto De Zerbi’s rebuild.
Sky Sports reports that the 26-year-old is understood to be ready to sign for the Lilywhites should they agree a suitable deal with the bigwigs at St James’ Park.
It is also claimed that Tonali is eager to play under De Zerbi, and that a contract exceeding £275,000 per week will be waiting for him if Spurs’ owners, the Lewis family, can meet Newcastle’s valuation.
However, it appears as though Spurs are struggling to match the £100million asking price that Newcastle have slapped on Tonali, seeing two offers rebuffed.
It is understood that the club made an initial approach for Tonali last week to the tune of around £80m which was swiftly knocked back.

And football.london also reported on Thursday that Spurs had asked Newcastle to reconsider their decision, only to see their approach rebuffed once more.
United aren’t in any great deal to sell the Lodi-born star any time soon, considering he has two years left on his deal at St James’ Park.
It comes as Spurs have already proven that they’re not afraid to splash the cash this summer to avoid a repeat of last term’s disappointing season.
