In what was arguably the most consequential Premier League fixture of the season, both the title race and relegation battle may have taken a decisive turn when West Ham hosted Arsenal on Sunday.Â
The Gunners emerged 1-0 winners at the London Stadium thanks to an 83rd-minute strike from Leandro Trossard.
The contest was not without controversy, however. West Ham thought they had rescued a dramatic equaliser in the 95th minute, only for VAR to rule the goal out after deciding Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya had been fouled in the build-up.Â
The decision is already being labelled one of the biggest VAR moments in Premier League history given its potential implications at both ends of the table.

Arsenal’s victory moved them five points clear of Manchester City, meaning Mikel Arteta’s side will secure their first league title in almost 22 years if they win their remaining two matches.Â
