Arsenal sent Kylian Mbappe message over World Cup star they’re out to sign that will excite fans

A former Arsenal star has claimed that the World Cup debutant will reach the same heights as Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappe in the future

Olivier Giroud claims that Ayyoub Bouaddi has the same ceiling in football as Kylian Mbappe, a bold statement that could prove to be the tipping point for Arsenal.

The ex-Gunner has been extremely impressed by the Morocco international’s performances at the World Cup so far. Bouaddi has played every minute at the major tournament, earning a draw against Brazil and defeating Scotland by a single goal.

The Moroccans have been hailed the ‘dark horses’ of the World Cup, and Bouaddi is at the heart of the action. He has caught the eye of many clubs, with Arsenal holding a firm interest in the 18-year-old.

Giroud has made his thoughts clear on the midfielder, claiming he could reach the same heights as Mbappe. The BBC Sport pundit said: “I played with Kylian Mbappe when he was 18. He was so mature for his age and I have the same feeling with Ayyoub.”

This is extremely high praise from the ex-France international, who secured the World Cup in 2018. Bouaddi could have also represented the same country as Giroud but ultimately opted for Morocco.

Regarding his allegiance to the Atlas Lions, the teenager said: “I am aware of the privilege I have to defend these colours and I will give everything to best represent my country.”

This choice has paid off monumentally as Bouaddi has become one of the most sought-after stars at the World Cup. With just five caps under his belt, it is no wonder Lille are preparing for bids to secure the midfielder’s signature.

Arsenal fans have already been begging the club to make a move for Bouaddi on social media, but they will face competition this summer. Real Madrid, Liverpool, Manchester United, Barcelona, Juventus and PSG are all linked with a move for the teenager, with a bidding war predicted.

The 18-year-old is valued at a minimum of £70million, but this is likely to increase dramatically if every club listed decides to make an offer. Bouaddi has commented on the transfer interest, admitting that while the attention is welcomed, he is solely focused on his country’s pursuits across the Atlantic.

He told The Athletic: “For the moment, I am only focused on the World Cup and I cannot answer this right now. Of course, I’m really happy to know that some clubs are interested in me.

“But, for now, I’m only focused on the World Cup with Morocco and we will try to give everything to do our best.”
