Tottenham receive new bid for Luka Vuskovic

Fabrizio Romano revealed that Brighton have returned with another offer for Tottenham defender Luka Vuskovic.

“Brighton sent an official proposal to Tottenham this morning [Friday],” Romano told his YouTube channel..

“It’s worth £42m plus £3m in add-ons, making it a £45m package after two bids were already rejected.

“Tottenham signed Senesi, Tottenham signed Van Hecke and they still have Micky van de Ven. We also have to see what happens with Cristian Romero, so there are several movements and now a decision to make with Luka Vuskovic.”

Cristian Romero to Man Utd? Romano reveals the truth

Manchester United have been linked with a shock move for Cristian Romero, but Romano says there are nothing in the rumours linking the Argentine to the Old Trafford side.

“I can guarantee that Manchester United didn’t make any approach to Tottenham for Cristian Romero,” he explained.

“There are other clubs working on a deal for Romero and there is a serious possibility he leaves. Manchester United asked about his situation months ago, but not in June and not even in May.

“My understanding is that if Romero leaves Tottenham, his priority would be to try a new chapter in another country.”

Barcelona reach agreement with Andreas Christensen

Romano also revealed that Barcelona have agreed fresh terms with Andreas Christensen.

“There is a verbal agreement done for the new contract of the Danish defender. It’s a verbal agreement and the deal is still waiting to be signed,” he said. “But Christensen is ready to put pen to paper on a new contract with Barcelona.

“The reports in Spain were about a one-year deal, but my understanding is that it will be until June 2028.

“There’s a two-year deal with Barcelona but with the possibility for it to be reviewed in 2027 from both sides. The player and club can discuss whether they want to continue together or not. But officially it’s expected to be a two-year deal.”

Barcelona strike deal for Ecuador talent Josue Caicedo

Romano then delivered an exclusive on Barcelona’s latest youth recruitment, with a deal struck that echoes the move that the Catalans struck for Egyptian youngster Hamza Abdelkarim last summer which has resulted in him signing permanent.

“Save the name,” he said. “Josue Caicedo is an 18-year-old winger from Ecuador and he will play for Barcelona.

“I have to say congratulations to Ecuador because I don’t know what they’re doing there, but they are producing talents everywhere, coming to European clubs.

“The deal is agreed. It’s a deal in the style of Hamza, something that Deco and his right-hand man, the head of scouting, Joao Amaral, they love to do this kind of deals.

“Barcelona already did many in January and Barca will keep going in this way. Sign these talents from all over the world for a cheap deal, maybe sometimes on loan, bring them to Barca B – obviously Josue Caicedo will be signing for Barca B – and then evaluate their future.

“In this case, it’s a long deal with an option to buy that can turn into obligation for €2.5m. So Josue Caicedo has said yes to Barcelona, is ready to become a new Barcelona player. A surprise, a young talent, exclusive news out of nowhere for Barca future.”

Man City close to Jeremy Doku contract extension

Manchester City are yet to do any major work on the transfer front this summer but they are closing in on a new contract for Jeremy Doku.

“On Manchester City we have to talk about contracts. There was concrete interest from Real Madrid for Gvardiol, but they’ve stopped all speculation with a new contract until 2031. It will be signed soon,” Romano said. “The same is happening with Jeremy Doku.

“The agreement is done. He will sign a new contract valid for five years. Higher salary, which I would say is well deserved. Doku did a fantastic job, especially in the second part of the season, scoring goals, important moments, always delivering for Manchester City, was a key player for Pep Guardiola, is a key player also for Enzo Maresca.”

Atletico Madrid move for Alejandro Grimaldo and Kang-in Lee

Romano explained that Atletico Madrid have turned to Bayer Leverkusen’s Alejandro Grimaldo after missing out on Marc Cucurella.

“After Cucurella went to Real Madrid, Grimaldo became a target for Atletico Madrid,” Romano saud. “Grimaldo has said yet to Atletico Madrid and wants to go there.

“He is an absolute top target for Atleti along with Kang-In Lee from PSG. They have an agreement for Grimaldo and are working very strongly to get Lee.

“For Grimaldo, they hope to spend €12-14m. The request from Bayer Leverkusen is higher, for sure, more than €20-25m, so there’s a gap between the clubs but the negotiations are ongoing. Atletico Madrid want to get him as soon as possible to give Diego Simeone a left-back.”

Tottenham not pursuing Mason Greenwood

Mason Greenwood was linked with a move to Tottenham via a report in L’Equipe, but he has played that down.

“What’s going on between Tottenham and Greenwood? My understanding, guys, is that Tottenham are not working on a deal to sign Greenwood,” he said.

“My information is that Tottenham are not in talks for Greenwood. He’s not even a target. There is no negotiation, no conversation, no talks. Zero at the moment between Tottenham and Mason Greenwood.

“It’s true that the relationship between Greenwood and De Zerbi at Marseille was excellent.

“But my understanding is that it doesn’t mean that Maison Greenwood has to go to Tottenham. So there is zero into this. There is interest from Italy in Maison Greenwood, that’s for sure. There is genuine interest from Italy. But at the moment, my understanding is that Greenwood-Tottenham won’t happen.

“Don’t forget on Greenwood that Manchester United will get big money in terms of sell-on-close for Greenwood.

“And that could be important, of course, on the market this summer.”
