Josh Kroenke promised that Arsenal will strengthen their squad even if they won the Champions League and the club is starting to make moves in the transfer market
Bradley Barcola has reportedly emerged as a target for Arsenal as they prepare the necessary details before lodging a bid. The French international has been linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months, with both the Gunners and Liverpool said to be monitoring his situation.
And according to The Independent, Mikel Arteta’s main priority this summer is to elevate the level of the attack, and Barcola has now been highlighted as a target that could bring an upgrade to the starting line-up. The report also claims that Paris Saint-Germain’s preference would be to keep the attacker, but they are also open to reshaping their own forward line.
Barcola has been instrumental in PSG’s back-to-back Champions League triumphs, though uncertainty has surrounded his situation heading into the summer window.

The France international featured 49 times for PSG last term, finding the net 13 times in all competitions, with two strikes coming in the Champions League.
However, it was recently claimed that Barcola is said to be considering his future, and a Premier League move was appealing after he slipped down Luis Enrique’s pecking order, with him opting for a front three of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele for most of last season.
And more interestingly, in the report from the Independent, there is every chance that Arsenal will sign Morgan Rogers and an attacker, such as Barcola.
Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his squad even though they won the Premier League title last season and got to the Champions League final.
Speaking after his side’s Premier League title win, co-chair Josh Kroenke promised that Arsenal will strengthen their squad this summer.
He said: “Our stated goal was winning the Premier League, because if you can put yourself in contention for the Premier League, you’re in contention for everything else.
“In one sense, we’ve achieved one goal, with another one on the plate coming on Saturday. Should we get a great result it’s not going to change or affect who we are.
“[In] our experience of winning things in the States, when you win something, the sun’s still going to come up the next day.
“You’ve got to get back to work and there are many teams trying to gain on you, including some historically great ones around the Premier League.
“We’re going to look to strengthen because we know teams around us are going to get better. If you’re not trying to continually evolve and improve, you’re standing still.”
