New York Knicks star Karl-Anthony Towns has revealed exactly how his fiancee, Jordyn Woods, reacted to owner James Dolan’s bizarre request that the team abstain from sex during the playoffs.
The newly crowned NBA champion confirmed that Woods was far from thrilled when he brought home the news of the mandatory dry spell ahead of their historic title run.
‘I’m a happily engaged man, I will definitely say, when I came home, and I told my fiancée what he said, she didn’t like to hear that one,’ Towns told The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday with a laugh.
The Knicks owner initially floated the celibacy directive during a lengthy locker-room speech to the roster in April, with just five games left in the regular season.
Teammates Jalen Brunson and Josh Hart broke the internet on Monday by sharing a clip of the speech on their Roommates Show podcast, just two days after celebrating their championship parade.
‘I had this idea that maybe you should give up sex for the next 10 weeks,’ Dolan told the squad. ‘The Spartans, they denied themselves, right, so they can have an edge. Get the edge.’

‘Go home, talk to your wives… don’t tell them it was my idea,’ the 71-year-old billionaire added. ‘But let them know what this commitment is going to be like.’
While it remains a mystery which players actually followed the owner’s Spartan advice, the unorthodox motivational tactic clearly did something right for the long-suffering franchise.
The Knicks dialed in to win 13 consecutive games in a blistering postseason run, brushing aside the San Antonio Spurs in five games to secure the title.
For Towns, bringing a Larry O’Brien trophy back to New York City after a 53-year drought has completely transformed his perspective on the absolute magnitude of professional sports.
‘You never realize as an athlete when you’re doing something special, you never realize the true impact it has,’ Towns admitted during his candid sit-down with host Howard Stern.
‘There was just so much healing, I was stunned,’ the big man added. ‘I didn’t realize how impactful it really is, and I still honestly don’t understand the true magnitude of what we’ve done.’
