OG Anunoby is in line for some well-deserved rest after his heroics in the NBA Finals. Just, not yet.
The Knicks are fresh off their championship series victory against the San Antonio Spurs to claim their first title in 53 years.
After arriving home on Sunday morning, the Knicks instantly continued the party atmosphere – with some players spotted attending New York’s Puerto Rican Day Parade mere hours after landing.
On Monday, the team’s starting five of Anunoby, Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart made the rounds on the New York morning talk shows.
The five all traveled for a visit to ABC’s ‘Good Morning America’ and NBC’s ‘The Today Show’ – all in various states of recovery from the celebrations of the previous days.
But Anunoby was in the spotlight for his spacy state where he was unable to answer questions from the hosts on GMA due to either a lack of sleep or recovering from some form of vice.

GMA host George Stephanopoulos asked the five players about coach Mike Brown and what he brings to the team. Anunoby didn’t respond, staring blankly into space while the others said nothing – drawing laughs from the onlookers and hosts.
Anunoby needed a prompt from host Michael Strahan to smile to jog him out of his stupor before giving a hilarious, yet groggy, answer to a question about his Game 4 tap-in layup to seal a 29-point comeback.
‘I was just trying to dunk it, but couldn’t dunk it, so I just tried to just… touch it, I mean, try to make the shot,’ Anunoby said.
Later, on ‘Today’, the hosts asked the trio if they’d gotten any sleep. They all shook their heads, but Bridges said, ‘OG hasn’t.’
It led to laughs from the team and a ‘Why me? Why me?’ from Anunoby before the crowd began chanting his name.Â
When asked about his nonchalant nature regarding the tip-in, Anunoby said, ‘They say that.’
He added, ‘At the time, we had to get ready for Game 5… it’s a really cool moment, I mean, I love my teammates, I love these guys, I love the fans.’
Knicks fans couldn’t help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation, with many suggesting that Anunoby may be a little more faded than the rest of his teammates.Â

‘OG is hanging on for dear life,’ wrote one user on X.
Another said, ‘OG Anunoby wanted to be anywhere else on the planet rather than there doing these interviews.’
‘OG high asf he ain’t sleepy,’ one comment read. A similar comment said, ‘Brother they are all ripped lmfao This has nothing to do with sleep.’Â
The five will have a little time to rest – if they want – before Lower Manhattan hosts a ticker-tape parade on Thursday.
