A Hamas delegation held talks with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisenko in Moscow on Wednesday, focusing on ceasefire negotiations in Gaza and international efforts to prevent a renewed outbreak of war.
According to a statement issued by Hamas, the delegation was led by Mousa Abu Marzouk, head of the movement’s International Relations Office, and “extensive political consultations” with Russian officials at the Foreign Ministry.
The discussions covered the latest political and military developments, Hamas’s position on the ongoing negotiations, and efforts to coordinate international initiatives aimed at ending the conflict and addressing its impact on Palestinians.
The delegation included Maher Salah, a member of Hamas’s political bureau; Iyad Abu Zaher, the movement’s representative in Moscow; and Mohammed Al-Aila, secretary of the International Relations Office.
During the meeting, Hamas officials briefed the Russian side on developments in Gaza, Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank, as well as what the movement described as ongoing Israeli actions and plans affecting the Palestinian territories.

The delegation reaffirmed Hamas’s commitment to maintaining the ceasefire and ending the humanitarian crisis in Gaza while preserving what it described as Palestinian national rights, including self-determination and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
The talks also addressed wider regional and international developments and their implications for the Palestinian issue.
For his part, Borisenko reiterated Russia’s support for Palestinian rights and Moscow’s commitment to political and diplomatic efforts aimed at achieving stability in the region.
According to the Hamas statement, the Russian deputy foreign minister stressed the importance of maintaining communication with the movement and outlined Russia’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to prevent a return to war and promote a political settlement.
The Hamas delegation expressed appreciation for Russia’s role in supporting the Palestinian cause and praised Moscow’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at ending the conflict and advancing Palestinian aspirations.
