Morgan Rogers’ representatives have only held extensive conversations with Arsenal and Bayern Munich ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, FootballTransfers understands.
The England superstar is currently one of the most in-demand players in world football and he has been widely tipped to depart Aston Villa before the start of the 2026-27 campaign, despite the fact they have qualified for next season’s Champions League.
Rogers registered 25 goal contributions in 55 games across all competitions last year and, as revealed by FootballTransfers, he has emerged as a top transfer target for Arsenal as Mikel Arteta’s side look to bolster their attacking ranks this summer.
The Gunners were interested in Newcastle United forward Anthony Gordon before his move to Barcelona and we have been informed that a deal for Rogers is now currently being explored by the Emirates Stadium hierarchy.
Bayern Munich are also keeping a keen eye on Rogers’ situation at Villa Park, and sources have told us that his representatives have only held lengthy transfer negotiations with Arsenal and Bayern so far.
Other clubs across European football are also eager to sign the 23-year-old when the summer transfer window opens, but those talks haven’t progressed beyond making their interest known.
Furthermore, as things stand, Arsenal and Bayern are the only two clubs that Rogers would seriously consider joining this summer. Currently, if a move to either of those teams fails to materialise, we have been told the England attacking midfielder would be likely to remain at Aston Villa for at least another season.
Morgan Rogers to Arsenal transfer update
As confirmed by FootballTransfers in late May, Arsenal have already conducted extensive groundwork on a deal to sign Rogers, with sporting director Andrea Berta understood to be a huge admirer of the England international.
However, while Arsenal are interested in Rogers, there is a major sticking point in terms of the transfer fee.
Aston Villa value their player in the region of €115 million (£100m) and although Arsenal’s exact valuation of Rogers is not clear, sources have indicated that it is “significantly less” than that figure.
When asked about Arsenal’s interest and whether he is ever affected by transfer speculation by The Rest Is Football, Rogers admitted while on international duty ahead of the World Cup: “I think the first time it ever happened, it was [a distraction].
“You are in an uncomfortable spot of not realising that people have so much interest in you and you’re not quite realising it but, as you get older and you are getting experience along the way, you know that comes with it and that 95 percent of it is just noise.
“You hear it of course you do, you can’t help not. You know it is there but you have got to use it as a positive way. You just try and get on with your game and just focus.”
