NFL WAG Claire Kittle opens up on IVF journey after 'extremely dangerous' ectopic pregnancy

Claire Kittle, the wife of San Francisco 49ers star George Kittle, has candidly opened up on her In Vitro Fertilization journey.

Claire, who has been married to the tight end since 2019, revealed that the couple were trying to get pregnant again after suffering an ectopic pregnancy back in 2023.

The former college basketball player shared that she and her NFL husband recently traveled to Los Angeles, California to explore the IVF process.

In the latest video to her ‘Wife’d Up, Mic’d Up’ YouTube channel, which she shares with fellow Niners WAG Kristin Juszczyk, Claire took fans on a behind-the-scenes look at her journey.

During the episode, Kristin, who is married to 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk, was seen helping give her the hormone injections necessary for stimulating the ovaries.

She and George were later filmed attending a consultation in Beverly Hills where the doctor checked for egg development.

The couple later returned to the clinic when the doctors were able to retrieve as many as 14 healthy eggs. They are now awaiting embryo development.

‘That’s a lot for just one time,’ she said as she and George discussed the process in front of the camera. ‘I was hoping for five (eggs) and I thought we would be very happy with that. So we’re very happy with the number that we got.

‘So, stay tuned. We’re not pregnant yet everyone. I probably won’t tell you when we are. You can find out eventually.’

In a previous vlog, she had explained that she and George were exploring IVF as a ‘backup plan’ to ease her anxiety about conceiving.

In 2023, Claire had shared that she lost her first baby early into her pregnancy after discovering that it was ectopic.

‘On Christmas morning George and I took a pregnancy test while the rest of our family waited to open presents downstairs,’ Claire wrote at the time. ‘We were about to see the greatest gift, a positive test.

‘Fast forward to Jan 10th I had a routine ultrasound putting me right around 7.5 weeks pregnant. The nurse giving my ultra sound went silent for awhile and I asked “I’m still early there’s probably nothing to see yet right?”

‘She responded with “I see a pregnancy here it’s just not in the correct place, it’s ectopic…” I felt my soul leave my body as I knew exactly what that meant.’

She explained that she went into surgery the same day, adding that ‘this type of pregnancy is extremely dangerous for the mother if not found early.’

‘I’m so thankful for the nurses and doctors who found this soon enough and to the Niners for allowing George to sprint out of the building at any given moment,’ she continued.

‘George was my strength when I had none. We leaned on each other like we never have before. I’m thankful my mom, dad and George’s parents were all here to help us.’

Claire and George met during their freshman year at the University of Iowa back in 2012 with their romance blossoming throughout their college days.

They eloped on April 9, 2019 after an eight-month engagement, before holding another ceremony at their offseason home in Nashville, Tennessee in 2021.
