A former Super Bowl champion is searching for an escape from Kansas City, according to a new report.
The Kansas City Chiefs are exploring options to trade tackle Wanya Morris, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
It comes after the franchise agreed to allow Morris to leave the team and to begin searching for a options around the league to trade with.
The 25-year-old has reportedly grown dissatisfied with his playing time in Kansas City and is looking for the chance to play more elsewhere.
The Chiefs, meanwhile, have solid depth at tackle with Josh Simmons and Jaylon Moore projected to be starters. They also have former undrafted free agent Esa Pole, Ethan Driskell and Chukwuebuka ‘Jason’ Godrick on the roster as well.
Morris was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft and has gone on to make 43 regular season appearances for Kansas City.

The 25-year-old suffered a season-ending knee injury against the Texans in December
He made 16 starts in those games, 11 of which came during the 2024 season when the Chiefs reached the Super Bowl. However, he was moved out of the Chiefs’ first team just before the postseason.
His lone start last season came against the Houston Texans but Morris’s season swiftly came to an end when he suffered an injury on the first play of the loss.
Morris landed on the injured reserve last December with the knee injury but is now healthy again and participating in the Chiefs’ organized team activities.
He is entering the final year of his four-year, $5,368,357 rookie contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
By allowing him to leave ahead of the 2026 season, the Chiefs could cash in on some potential draft capital.
The move would also allow Morris the chance to impress on the field elsewhere in the hope that he puts himself in a good position ahead of free agency.
