Newcastle adamant Hall is staying
Man Utd are reportedly showing a strong interest in Lewis Hall, but Newcastle are determined to keep him, according to Lee Ryder.
The Magpies are braced for several major departures this summer, with the most likely names being Anthony Gordon and Sandro Tonali, and are therefore in no mood to entertain the sale of Hall.
Moreover, the former Chelsea prospect is a boyhood Newcastle supporter, so there is a belief that he would be open to signing a new long-term contract with the club in the future.
Toure instead of Diomande?
Yan Diomande is believed to be content to stay at RB Leipzig for another year, so Man Utd could instead turn their attention to Hoffenheim youngster Bazoumana Toure.
Sky Germany reports that there is strong Premier League interest in Diomande’s compatriot, and Hoffenheim’s chances of keeping him have dropped to close to zero after they failed to secure Champions League football.
Toure’s impending exit has been known for months, with Hoffenheim said to be keen to make him their new club-record signing by demanding a fee close to €50m.
Ryerson considered
Sky Germany also reports that Man Utd are mulling over a move for Borussia Dortmund full-back Julian Ryerson.
The Red Devils don’t necessarily have a clear need for a new right-back, but the report suggests that Noussair Mazraoui is facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford. Ryerson can also play at left-back, which is a priority position this summer.
The Norway international is coming off his best-ever season, having notched 15 assists in the Bundesliga. Dortmund would be willing to sell him for a fee in the region of €30m.
Bowen opportunity?
Man Utd are among the clubs interested in signing winger Jarrod Bowen if West Ham get relegated, as per The Guardian.
The Hammers, who need results to go their way in order to stay up on Sunday, are braced for a significant revenue shortfall if they drop down to the Championship, which could force them into selling more than €100 million worth of talent.
Bowen, despite his affection for the club, is one of the most marketable assets and could be on the way out, with several Premier League giants keen to take advantage of this potential market opportunity.
More Tonali speculation
The conflicting reporting on Newcastle midfielder Sandro Tonali continues, with Tutto Juve now stating that the Italy international could be sold for just €80m this summer.
Recent reports have suggested that the Magpies will not consider offers below €115m, but it is now stated that he could be cheaper than that. Either way, Newcastle would prefer not to sell their star midfielder.
Juventus have ended their pursuit of Tonali because he is simply too expensive, but Arsenal and Man Utd remain in the race and are the frontrunners for his signature. Both have held talks with his camp over the conditions of a potential deal.
Newcastle expect some “big bids” for the 26-year-old this summer. If they have to sell, then the best-case scenario would be a bidding war between Arsenal and Man Utd.
