Tehran threatens broad retaliation against future Israeli attacks

Iran’s foreign ministry warned that any further Israeli military action against Iran or Lebanon would be met with what it described as a “crushing and comprehensive response” from the country’s armed forces.

In a statement, the ministry said Iran’s recent missile strikes were carried out in response to what it considers Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement and stressed that Tehran would act whenever it deemed necessary to defend its interests.

The warning followed reports of missile launches toward northern Israel, the first such attacks reported since the ceasefire took effect on 8 April, according to Israeli media.
