Super Eagles Midfielder Engages Fiancee Chidera

Super Eagles midfielder Kelechi Nwakali has announced his engagement to his long-time fiancée, Chidera.

The former Golden Eaglets captain announced the news by sharing intimate photos of the proposal on his social media pages.

In one of the photos, Chidera is seen wearing an engagement ring as the pair posed for pictures after the proposal.

Nwakali began his football career with Diamond Football Academy in Umuahia before gaining international attention as captain of Nigeria’s Golden Eaglets team that won the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Chile in 2015.

He was named the tournament’s most valuable player. Following the tournament, he joined English club Arsenal and later had loan spells in the Netherlands before moving to clubs in Portugal and Spain.

The midfielder has also represented Nigeria at various levels, including the U-17, U-20, and U-23 teams, before making appearances for the Super Eagles.

Nwakali’s time at Barnsley F.C. has been a turbulent mix of brilliant on-pitch flashes and severe off-field disciplinary issues.

Following a series of disciplinary issues and a delayed return from his postseason holiday, he was banished from the squad and placed on the transfer list.
