Middle Belt Tigers set all tongues wagging on Saturday, when they won a rematch with a resurgent performance to defeat Southern Sharks in the Cricket Super League final, Sports247 reports.

Cricket lovers were surprised seeing The Tigers bounce back from an earlier loss to the same team, as they defeated The Sharks by 6 runs and clinched the inaugural Nigeria Super League title at Tafawa Balewa Square Cricket Oval, Lagos Island.
It was a captivating revival for The Tigers, as their bowlers and batters sealed the historic victory in dramatic fashion, much to the amazement of the onlooking assemblage of officials, participants, administrators, stakeholders and journalists.
It was a reversal of fortunes from the previous result enacted between both sides in reaching this stage, as Southern Sharks got first place in the final after defeating Middle-Belt Tigers by 17 runs in a rain-shortened contest.
Batting first, Sharks posted 85/6 in 13 overs, with Durotoye Gideon top-scoring with 27 runs, while Danladi Isaac added a brisk 13 runs to help set a competitive total and, though Middle-Belt Tigers put up a spirited fight, they still fell.
They were eventually bowled out for 68 in 11.3 overs, despite the team’s captain, Runsewe Sulaimon leading the resistance with a fighting 19 runs, as the top quality of Sharks’ bowling attack proved decisive.
Danladi Isaac delivered a match-winning spell of 3 wickets, while Akhigbe Miracle supported admirably with 2 wickets to guide Southern Sharks into the final, while the third placed game was between Northern Lions and Central Eagles.
